Why Use A Drone Roof Survey

A better first look, without the cost of access equipment

  • 01
No scaffolding, for many first-look cases
Most residential roofs can be surveyed safely from the ground, saving time and cost.
  • 02
    Safer than a ladder inspection
No one needs to climb onto your roof for an initial visual check.
  • 03
    Clear imagery of hard-to-see areas
Valleys, chimney stacks and rear slopes are photographed in the same detail as the front elevation.
  • 04
    Usually completed same-day
On-site survey time is typically 15–30 minutes for a standard residential property.
  • 05
    Significant savings against traditional methods
No scaffold hire or specialist access equipment, so more of your budget goes toward any repairs actually needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Good to know before you book

Is this the same as a structural survey?
No. This is a visual aerial inspection using drone imagery. It gives you a clear first look at visible roof condition, but it is not a structural survey, engineer's report, or insurance assessment. Where we see something that warrants closer investigation, we'll say so.
Do you need access to my property?
Usually not. Most residential roofs can be fully surveyed from the pavement, driveway or garden. If access to a garden or neighbouring land is needed, we'll confirm this with you beforehand.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Drone flights require reasonably calm, dry conditions. If the weather isn't suitable on the day, we'll reschedule at no extra cost — we'd rather do it properly than rush a flight in poor conditions.
How quickly will I get my report?
Digital images and video are typically delivered by email within 24 hours of the survey visit, often sooner, followed by your written report.
Can I use this for an insurance claim?
Our report can support a conversation with your insurer as a visual record, but it is not a formal loss adjuster or engineer's report and shouldn't be relied on as one. We recommend checking with your insurer what they specifically require.
Do you inspect commercial or larger roofs?
Yes — small commercial units, blocks of flats and larger roof areas can be surveyed. These are quoted individually based on size and complexity, but always agreed as a fixed price before we visit.
